French Press Brewing Guide

The French Press, or as more commonly called the Plunger, is one of the all time classics in the alternative brewing department. This device has been around since the early 1900’s and in all that time the design has barely been changed. This device was designed to create great tasting coffee in the simplest way possible making it perfect for those who are looking for an easy way to make great coffee at home.

Below is our guide and recommended brewing method to get the best out of this wonderful device.

RECOMMENDED COFFEE

Single Origin Filter

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
French Press/Plunger
20g of Freshly Ground Coffee
Goose Neck Kettle
Carafe or Mug
Tablespoon
Scales
Timer

COMPONENTS

Ratio: 1:15
Coffee: 20g
Water: 300g (Between 92 and 98 degrees)
Grind: Coarse
Total Brew Time: 4:00 minutes

METHOD
1. Remove Plunger
2. Add 20g (approximately 2tblsp) of coffee to the French Press
3. Start timer
4. Add 300g of water to the French Press over 30 seconds
5. Place plunger and lid back onto the French Press
6. Allow to brew for 4:00 minutes
7. Press plunger down to the bottom of the French Press
8. Serve and enjoy
